How to order a VPS
From sign-up to your first SSH login takes about ten minutes, and most of that is waiting for the payment to confirm on-chain. Here are the steps, with the same button names you'll see in your account.

How to connect to your server over SSH
Once your server is active, its page in your account shows the IP address and the root login, and the email says it's ready. The password is shown once, on that same page, after you press "Show password". Copy it somewhere safe right away: after it's revealed, we delete our copy. That's all you need to connect from any computer, usually without installing anything.

How to choose a VPS plan
The rule of thumb: start with a plan that covers what you need today and add resources once real load shows up. Moving to a larger plan doesn't require reinstalling the system.

Transferring a domain to dedisrv: preparation and steps
A transfer only changes the registrar — you remain the domain's owner. As long as the DNS servers stay the same, your website and email keep working without interruption.

Paying an invoice with crypto
Every invoice in your account has a "Pay" block. Pick a coin, then a network, and only then you get the address, the exact amount and a QR code. The order matters: sending USDT on Ethereum to an address you meant for Polygon is the classic way to lose a payment, so the address simply stays hidden until both are chosen.

Renewal, auto-renewal and cancelling a server

Upgrading your VPS plan
Ran out of RAM, or the disk is filling up faster than you planned? You don't need a new server. Open the server's page in your account and look for "Upgrade plan" in the "Plan and renewal" block. Same machine, same IP, same data, just more resources.

Root password, reboot and reinstalling the system
Lost the root password, locked yourself out with a firewall rule, or just want a clean system? All of this is on the server's page in your account, no ticket needed.

Two-factor authentication for your account
Your account controls real servers and real money on the balance. A leaked password shouldn't be enough to get in, and two-factor authentication (2FA) makes sure it isn't: after the password, or the email code, you also enter a six-digit code from an app on your phone.

Host a Telegram bot on a VPS so it runs 24/7
A bot that runs on your laptop dies every time the lid closes. On a VPS it runs around the clock and restarts itself after a crash or a reboot. Below: a minimal Python bot, a systemd service that keeps it alive, and logs you can actually read.

Your own WireGuard VPN on a VPS in 10 minutes
A personal VPN on your own server gives you a fixed IP for logging in to your infrastructure and a safe tunnel on hotel and café Wi-Fi. Nobody else shares the server. WireGuard is the simplest way to set it up: one config file per side, and the kernel does the rest.

WordPress on a VPS: nginx, PHP, MariaDB and HTTPS
Shared hosting is fine until a neighbour's site eats the CPU or you need a PHP extension the host won't install. On a VPS the whole stack is yours. This guide sets up WordPress on Ubuntu 24.04 with nginx, PHP 8.3, MariaDB and a free Let's Encrypt certificate. It takes about 20 minutes.

Docker and Docker Compose on a VPS, and the firewall trap
Most self-hosted software today ships as a docker-compose.yml. Getting Docker onto a VPS takes one command. Running it safely needs one more thing almost every guide skips: Docker's published ports go around ufw.

Secure a new VPS: the first 15 minutes on Ubuntu and Debian
To secure a new VPS, update the system, create a user with sudo, log in with an SSH key, turn off password and root login, open only the ports you need with ufw, and let fail2ban and unattended-upgrades deal with brute force and security patches. On Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian 12 it takes about 15 minutes, and it is worth doing before you install anything else.

How to connect a domain to a VPS: A record, www and dig check
To connect a domain to a VPS, create an A record for the bare domain (@) pointing to the server's IPv4 address, and a CNAME record for www pointing to the domain itself. Make the change in the DNS panel of whoever serves your domain's nameservers, then check it with dig: depending on the TTL, the new address shows up within minutes to a few hours.

Nginx and Let's Encrypt: free SSL with certbot on Ubuntu and Debian
To get a free SSL certificate for Nginx on a VPS, install certbot with its Nginx plugin and run certbot --nginx -d example.com -d www.example.com --redirect. Certbot obtains a Let's Encrypt certificate, adds it to the Nginx config and redirects HTTP to HTTPS; a systemd timer then renews it automatically. The steps below work on Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 12.

n8n Self-Hosted on a VPS: Docker Compose and HTTPS via Caddy
To self-host n8n, run it on a VPS with Docker Compose next to PostgreSQL and put Caddy in front: Caddy gets a Let's Encrypt certificate by itself, so webhooks and the editor work over HTTPS from the first start. The whole setup takes about 15 minutes on Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian 12.

Nextcloud on a VPS: Docker, HTTPS and an Honest Look at Disk Space
A Nextcloud VPS gives you your own file sync, calendars, contacts and shared documents without a third-party cloud. With Docker Compose, MariaDB, Redis and Caddy for automatic HTTPS it runs in about 20 minutes. The catch is disk space: VPS plans have small NVMe disks, so use Nextcloud for sync and office work and keep bulk data elsewhere.

Minecraft server on a VPS: Paper, systemd and RAM sizing
To host a Minecraft Java server on a VPS, install Java, download Paper, start it under its own user as a systemd service and open TCP port 25565. Memory is what you size first: for a group of up to ten friends, a plan with 4 GB of RAM is the practical starting point, and every extra gigabyte buys roughly five more players.

3x-ui install on a VPS: your own VLESS + Reality VPN
3x-ui is an open-source web panel for Xray: it creates VLESS + Reality connections and hands them to your devices as a link or QR code. Install it on a VPS with one script, put the inbound on port 443, keep the panel itself closed behind the firewall and an SSH tunnel, and connect with v2rayNG, v2rayN, Hiddify or Streisand. For personal use and a few family devices the smallest plan is enough.

ComfyUI server for Stable Diffusion and FLUX on a GPU
A ComfyUI server on a dedicated GPU machine runs Stable Diffusion and FLUX with no queue and no per-image fees: install the NVIDIA driver, put ComfyUI into a Python venv, and open the interface through an SSH tunnel instead of exposing it to the internet. With 96 GB of VRAM, FLUX.1 [dev] at full precision fits with plenty of room to spare.
