Linode (Akamai Cloud) alternative with crypto payment
Linode, now Akamai Cloud, takes cards, Google Pay and PayPal, and check, ACH or wire through support, but no cryptocurrency. dedisrv takes USDT, USDC, ETH, POL and Monero and costs considerably less for the same vCPU and RAM, though with much smaller disks. Prices and payment compared, checked in November 2026.

- Same vCPU and RAM for less: dedisrv. 2 vCPU and 4 GB cost $15 a month at dedisrv and $24 at Linode; 4 vCPU and 8 GB cost $22 and $48.
- Pay in crypto: only dedisrv.

Linode prices are monthly, from its public API; they are billed hourly up to that monthly amount. European regions include Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Milan, Madrid and Stockholm.
Payment
Akamai's documentation lists credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, UnionPay), Google Pay and PayPal. Check, ACH or wire transfer is possible by contacting support. Cryptocurrency is not on the list.
dedisrv takes USDT and USDC on Base, Ethereum and Polygon, plus ETH, POL and Monero, sent straight to the address on the invoice. No card is needed; registration takes an email address and a 6-digit code. See paying with crypto.
Where Linode is better
- Four to ten times more disk on comparable plans.
- Hourly billing and regions on every continent.
- Managed Kubernetes, databases, object storage, NodeBalancers and Akamai's network.
- Dedicated CPU, high-memory and GPU plans.
Where dedisrv is better
- About 60% of Linode's price for 2 vCPU and under half for 4 vCPU; Titan, with 8 vCPU and 12 GB, costs a third of Linode's 6 vCPU / 16 GB plan.
- No traffic limit; Linode includes 4 to 8 TB a month on these plans.
- Payment in crypto, including stablecoins on Base and Polygon where network fees are a few cents, and Monero.
- Support in English, Ukrainian and Russian, daily from 09:00 to 21:00 EET.
- A public service agreement and an invoice for every order.
Which one to choose
Choose Linode if you need a cloud platform with managed services, large disks or regions outside Europe, and pay by card or PayPal. Choose dedisrv if you need a plain VPS with root access in the EU, want to pay in crypto, and your data fits in 15–30 GB of NVMe.
